"It will pass.....I-I am sure....it will pass...... " the Prince of Lilypads muttered, ending his song with one last sorrowful note. He turned towards his friend, the Swan Prince, Claude, and gazed up with beseeching eyes, brimmed with tears he tried desperately to hold. "Claude... h-how long...does this last?" he asked, gripping lightly at his chest. "This... feeling of utter hopelessness.... and heart ache?"
The Swan Prince frowned slightly, trying to think of an appropriate answer. But there was none; what could he tell him? "I..I cannot tell you for certains, when Lucien..it will only last...however long you allow it to last..
That was not the answer he was hoping for, and he cast his eyes down with a heavy sigh, leaning forward and hiding his face in his hands. "Then... forever....is such a long time...."he muttered bitterly. And with that, the despair he tired so hard to hold back seemed to wash over him in a flood... and he cried silently, his shoulders shaking from the sheer force of it.
And Claude, unsure of what to do at first, leaned down and gave the younger prince a hug, attempting to comfort him, to which Lucien had turned and leaned heavily against him in his sorrow. His poor Lucien; this was his first heart ache, and it pained him to see his usually bright and composed friend like this. "It will be alright..." he began soothingly. "If she is able to move on, then so are you...You mai not believe it but, you are stronger than this...."
"S-Strength was n-never my strong suit...." he replied bitterly as he wept. And he wept for a long while, until he had exhausted himself. And Claude, not once leaving his side, helped him to his room, and onto his bed, to which Lucien made no protest. All he wanted to do was sleep... sleep and not think about this anymore. ".....I'm tired...." he muttered, after slipping off his coat, vest and gloves and not bothering with the rest. "...forgive me, Claude.... for being so...f-foolish...."
"Non, mon ami... you are not foolish." he replied, sitting at the edge of his bed, patting his arm soothingly. "You are hurt... c'est comprehensible."
Lucien merely closed his eyes as he settled against his bed and sighed heavily. ".....I'm tired...." he said again.... and that was all. Sleep came to him quickly, but it would not be a restful one; even in sleep, his tears continued to fall. So Claude made one last attempt to comfort his friend; he transformed into his swan form, fluttering over to his sleeping friend and curled up around his head, draping his neck across Luciens and soon joined him in sleep.... ((blargh... my writings skills aren't what they used to be, but whatever.... ok just one more angsty pic. Now I am done UuU I don't know why I enjoyed doing this so much. Guess I just love me some heart break. And don't worry, he'll be fine. This is his first heark break, and as the song goes, the first cut is the deepest. and just a note. No, this is NOT slash. Claude is just being the best friend ever.
